• Content — the PDFs you upload and the annotations, comments, and version history you create.
• Team and access data — team membership, roles, invitations, and reviewer access grants.
• Billing information — handled by our payment processor; we store subscription status and identifiers, not full card details.
• Usage and activity data — actions such as uploads, comments, and approvals, used to provide activity logs and improve the Service.

2. How we use your information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
• To authenticate you and secure your account.
• To process payments and manage subscriptions.
• To send transactional and notification emails (such as mentions, reminders, and invitations).
• To respond to support requests and communicate with you about the Service.

3. Service providers (subprocessors)

We rely on trusted third parties to operate the Service. Each processes data only as needed to provide their function:

• Clerk — authentication and account identity.
• Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
• Cloudflare R2 — storage of your uploaded documents.
• Neon — database hosting for account, team, and project metadata.
• Liveblocks — real-time cursors and shared annotations.
• Resend — transactional and notification email delivery.
• Vercel — application hosting and infrastructure.

4. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete content or your account, we remove the associated data, including files in storage, subject to reasonable backup and legal retention periods.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can update much of your information from within the app, and you may contact us to exercise any of these rights.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including private file storage and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and continuously improve our safeguards.
